First figs from a young tree will sometimes have muted flavors. I think this might be what I sampled from my Figoin. After a nice pruning and up potting…I should know better this season weather I want to keep my tree.
That is so true about figs from younger trees. I am curious if you detected anything that could be described as “peach” or stonefruit in the flavor, or if it was more of a honey-berry as opposed to straight berry? Anyhow, I hope it is great for you this year! It’s important to get comments from different climates to get a better picture of where it performs well and where it doesn’t. So thank you for chiming in!

Not stone fruit …so much in my Figoin , but like a raspberry jam.
